Future

forever

Most look to the future
believing it would never end
Your only truth that may last
is a few words you can send

 

Some of the rhyming words
may get a life of their own
Recorded and maybe forgotten
but with truth that was known

 

Some of what is written
will exist longer than memory
The only way to know
we will have to wait and see

 

Memory will likely be colored
by the mind using the words
Opinions will be included
with a few added absurds

 

Since our actual opinions
can never be verified
By never having been known
even when and if we lied

 

If we manage to do our best
to put our thoughts right here
Some may last a bit longer
in this or any other sphere

 

Ancients have resorted to writing
to give ideas more time to live
With some hope for their value
having future help to give

 

If these words fail to help
you will still know what they say
Just a few humble thoughts
said in a not too serious way
