Charlie

Charlie

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

quality time

"
Charlie R, television at its best
a most thoughtful time to spend
Help for broadening attitude
with surprising facts to lend

He interviews the intelligent
who have studied what they know
Supplying facts from experience
to support what is so

To give a clearer view of Islam
six experts joined his effort
Clarifying mistakes many make
in giving their report

Each program is dedicated
to a subject others poorly discuss
Promoting their personal interest
and trying to create a fuss

Television prefers hot issues
to get listeners more involved
Leaving those same listeners
with real problems poorly resolved

With Charlie it is different
you come away with ideas to share
You can believe in his presentations
because they are always fair

If you miss him in the afternoon
stay up and hear him tonight
The repeat of what was covered
will help you get it right

I find that watching both times
is the best two hours I can spend
Tell others who can join you
the best thought you can send

Is Charlie for real. Your poem made me desire to listen to him. I was lucky. I lived in Muslim countries for five years. I never received a negative word and was thanks many times. I taught in many places water purification of sea water. A powerful message in your poem.
