Marriage

should be guilt free

Marriage presents the opportunity
to get what you think you need
Bearing children is the real issue
who in their lives you will have to feed

 

Since marriage is now a contract
and children must be legally fed
Courts should require a posted bond
before the "I dos" are said

 

Being innocent until proven guilty
says don't bother with a bond
The future is too uncertain
for the partners to respond

 

As in so many events that happen
the responsible will do their part
The family will be a success
and never be torn apart

 

We know this may not be true
when partners change their mind
They create a new statistic
for the children it is not kind

 

Lawyers will try to settle
the disputes that will occur
Few will ever be happy
it is almost for sure

 

So what should couples do
to make things come out right
A promising behavior would be
they had never liked to fight

 

This would be a match
that would last for many years
Many couples are like this
to them we give three cheers
