Real Danger

Real Danger

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

less is better

"

Beware of behavior disliked
for therein lies real danger
All humans copy behavior
the effect is not a bit stranger

We copy in our search for wealth
everyone knows that this is true
When done with some care
a better bottom line will ensue

Nothing is seen more clearly
than acts we also do
We see in our own performance
behavior we dislike too

Eventually there will come a time
when we can't stop how others act
So we turn the dislike on ourself
and this could be a fatal fact

The fatality could be our own
not something we hope to expect
Dangers to us lurk everywhere
for those who show no respect

Good behavior is its own reward
we see it in some others every day
The mirror image is a saving sight
that helps us in every way

If you write about your own behavior
there is chance for real insight
Giving any writer a valuable edge
and more hope for getting things right

try it yourself to see
forget about punctuation and rhyme
seeing what we do more clearly
is a better way to live
