Anger

Anger

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

misused

"

Anger in an unsettled mind

disturbs it even more

When it leads to getting even

it is a misuse of what minds are for

When our mind loses control

of acceptable ways to respond

It takes us to dangerous territory

and sometimes far beyond

Getting even is our own failure

giving a false sense of satisfaction

Failing in so many ways

to express a sane and civil reaction

Insults are a poor response

to disagreements that may occur

No one should accept such behavior

unacceptable they are for sure

It may cause the dispute to continue

only making the situation worse

Anyone taking part in these actions

has labled themselves as perverse

Even animals find better solutions

when they were able to be tamed

Except when they are still wild

and then they should not be blamed

When a person's behavior is wild

they are eliminated or kept in a cage

Getting even is the start of being wild

and the beginning of a life of rage

Disagreements solved by being civil

will prevent damage before it is done

When this is the plan of both parties

any battle they have would be won
