Survival

(for you and me)

Survival is outliving the others
proven only after the fact
Environment controls the outcome
aided by a person's every act

 

From the earliest days of every human
a pattern has already been set
The conditions are over-whelming
influencing what a person will get

 

Starting point is unique for everyone
so important in how it will turn out
Longevity will be a great aid
while others will have to do without

 

This difference is often described
in terms of the haves and have-nots
It may seem unfair to those with less
that many others are born with lots

 

Having more may not be a blessing
when the end is so very far away
Determination when starting with less
will enhance the way they play

 

 Environments are constantly changing
external factors one may not expect
That is why we look to the future
and treat it with serious respect

 

Getting to know yourself well
will improve every plan you make
How you deal with every decision
will be part of every route you take

 

Looking to others for advice
is not healthy in the long run
Practice believing in good choices
is the way the strong have won
