Values

Values

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

that last

"
Any writing you can sell
will get more attention
This is an obvious fact
that is pointless to mention

What we do with our time
has inherent value of its own
Clouding judgements we make
which is behavior well known

Success cannot be determined
based on what a person does
Behavior lacking any standard
we could use now or there ever was

By selecting a sample
of values we believe
There is basis for the motivation
to determine what we receive

This is how some get rich
and others remain poor
As in wolves feed on lambs
when you don't bar the door

If you ever try to change
 the way a person lives
It is easier with good friends
when you have something to give

Control is one way to succeed
as we try to tackle any task
It gives power to what we do
and helps make our success last

Our values are complex
very difficult to explain
Remnants of our experience
which we will long retain
