Values

Values

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

we retain

"
Any writing you can sell
will get more attention
This is an obvious fact
that is pointless to mention

What we do with our time
has inherent value of its own
Clouding judgements we make
which is behavior well known

Success cannot be determined
based on what a person does
Behavior lacking a standard
we could use now or there ever was

By selecting a sample
of values we believe
There is basis for the motivation
to determine what we receive

Some manage to get rich
while others remain poor
As in how wolves reach the lambs
when you don't bar the door

If you ever try to change
the ways people live
It is easier with good friends
when you have something to give

Control is the way to succeed
as we try to tackle any task
It gives power to what we do
and help make our success last

Our values are complex
and difficult to explain
Remnants of our experience
we will long retain
