Pain Oh Pain

Pain Oh Pain

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

a challenge of aging

"
Pain oh endless pain
never seeming to go away
When you have lived too long
you have the devil to pay

Pain my help us a lot
by saying something's wrong
What all have suspected
 was true all along

Not admitting the problem
and finding out some day
Is a poor choice for health
what else can one say

The pain will get worse
or maybe it will end
The message that was sent
was the help it tried to lend

Since pain is in the mind
answering to some nerves
Better health will control it
that's how good health serves

Responding to the pain
is never an easy task
It is hard to find the person
who is the best one to ask

If we are not careful
in finding the person we choose
With the advice we might get
our life we might lose

Professional advice
should be better than none
Help reducing the pain
may then have begun
