Taste

Taste

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

a way of life

"
Learning as we grow
conditioning for our life ahead
Tastes last our whole life
not willingly to be shed

Tastes control our choices
in almost everything we do
Affecting us as we live
in the events that are new

Honoring what we learned
controlling who we are
Happy to remember the past
and more important by far

Habits influence our taste
defining how we react
Building our character traits
and our belief in what is fact

Experience brings questions
challenging what we know
If we change our opinion now
will it be saying what is so?

When events challenge complacency
they give the future a new slant
Asking the important questions
whether you can or you can't

Fearing the unknown is normal
it lacks the quality of being sure
But moving forward with courage
will bring the only cure

Taking chances to find solutions
adds excitement to the choice
Chance will occur anyway
and may give a reason to rejoice

Your words are true. Taste is a key to life. The senses keep us alive and make us hunger for many new things.
"Fearing the unknown is normal
it lacks the quality of being sure
But moving forward with courage
will bring the only cure"
If we are afraid of new things. Our life would have little purpose. A excellent poem. Thank you.
