Changes

now or never

We must face the problem
for change to ever occur
A requirement of our future
and that is for sure

 

Habits have their way
of being the only choice
Change gets pushed aside
having only a muted voice

 

The budget always included
entitlements of the past
A plan that was required
to make our tenure last

 

What takes years to develop
will not go away soon
It takes more than a plan
to sing a better tune

 

Conditions we have supported
is the reality now for us
If we believe it can be reversed
it is what we must now discuss

 

The time it took to get here
will take more than that to change
Doing nothing about it now
a reversal may be out of range

 

What the best minds have planned
is not what the masses will do
They need to be convinced
our future depends on it too

 

Though we may not have riots
as happened in the middle east
Changes may limit suffering
or our life will be no feast
