Our Future

requires our attention

The events of our past
helped us decide our goal
We cannot ignore the future
and problems that take their toll

 

Habits are hard to escape
they took years to engender
Their beginning was so long ago
when, we can't even remember

 

The habit of dependence
is a poor way to live
A change in this behavior
will have benefits to give

 

Changes can cause some hurt
we will have to bear the pain
It is part of solving problems
as our sanity we try to retain

 

There is no escape
from the hazards in what we do
New problems will always occur
that need consideration too

 

For a problem to go away
even when recognized
Means a better habit is required
for change to be realized

 

The new habit we embrace
requires a firm sense of right
Any change that we make
will need clearer insight

 

Staying positive about our future
is the best way to begin
Every day take the new way
it is a surer way to win
