Ego Trip

know your self

To ski, dance, dress and sing
can make life seem forever
To avoid engendering an ego trip
will make what you do more clever

 

Carried along by jet set choices
it is easy to forget
The needs of a healthy body
and the challenges still not met

 

A prosaic life can return more years
with health and pleasures too
Quietly enjoying the simple days
and not so soon being through

 

Everyone will likely get
the results that they deserve
Its a balancing act for all to survive
with still having some time in reserve

 

No one can tell us how to do it
we can't even copy their plan
Whenever we think about the future
our past controls what we can

 

At any time we know of our limits
and what they enable us to do
The best practice is try to improve
its a lot more sensible too

 

To learn the problems of the ego
is the first step in becoming more wise
It helps in correcting mistakes
and the errors we need to revise

 

Just know as improvement begins
there is only this one chance
To enjoy your time in the universe
it is your one life you will enhance
