Connections

needed by everyone

Facebook fills their need
for the connections life can't give
Loneliness is less noticed
when they share the way they live

 

By having a medium to connect
intimacy gets a chance
When we see what others do
we can join in the dance

 

Don't ask don't tell
fits the connection very well
Everything we post
tells what we have to sell

 

Getting the attention of others
is how we know we're alive
If we were truly alone
we would probably not survive

 

It is easy to see
that these words do the same
Writing is always cryptic
its an important part of the game

 

Writing does have an advantage
since it uses words we don't own
But for those who know the words
our character is still shown

 

Facebook improved the story
with pictures that are real
Giving all of our friends (and enemies)
a better example of what we feel

 

Be careful about what you include
it should only be for a friend
There are many who might see it
someone you did not intend
