Banking

Banking

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

it's only a business

"
If you have a problem with a bank
we know how upset you are
Its mainly the economy we have to thank
the biggest of our problems by far

No money is really safe
wherever it is kept
sticky hands are everywhere
and they are very adept

Banks are facing fraud
from customers trying to cheat
They have very complex rules
in their effort to compete

Even tellers at the bank
face a difficult task
They hate to be the goat
when they forget to ask

The bank knows your numbers
which you hope they won't share
Your experiences in the bank
will tell you if they care

The best banks we know
seldom make a mistake
They have to be on guard
for a check that's a fake

Money is the source
of corruption everywhere
Don't expect in your dealings
that every contact will be fair

There is a rule in business
that if you don't come out ahead
Your honest business
will be soon be dead
