Inherit

the past and the future

Fortunate we are
to know what the word means
To be carried on by progeny
with our inherited genes

 

Passed along forever
in a varied new form
Evolving continually
following the norm

 

Hawking now believes
the universe acts alone
Changing and evolving
with a mathematical tone

 

Our need for a force
so often described as God
Is essentially the universe
being its own lightning rod

 

Explanations of reality
are limited by what we know
Further investigation
will tell us what is so

 

Knowledge is description
of what has gone before
Inherited by better minds
that can examine the lore

 

Humans look to a Master
for peace and comfort too
To explain how they got here
and what is really true

 

Our Master is the universe
friendly is a human trait
Just enjoy the time you have
trying not to be late
