Behavior

Behavior

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

careless or cautious

"

Impulsive

Impulsive as one may be
ignoring caution as a choice
Will lead to what we see
and our having little to rejoice

Rushing in so boldly now
where angels fear to tread
Will show us that is how
there will be much to dread

Decisive it may be
in a good plan carried out
Impulsive isn't being free
 and not what life's about

Giving more serious thought
our acts could lead to a win
Not so when giving less
as we see the fix we're in

Calling our life the daily grind
indicates how we feel
In this helpless state of mind
we act like pigs that squeal

Being impulsive is not wise
only attractive to the young
It's the cause of all the cries
after the bells have rung

To have the bells toll for you
 so everyone can hear
Be impulsive in what you do
never having anything to fear

A better choice would be
than hearing those bells ring
Is using care in what you do
and let the angels sing
