Value

Value

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

understood with hindsight

"
While the meek inherit nothing
the bold take over the earth
It all depends on investments
to know how much they were worth

These values are now well-known
as they quietly were before
The bold always embraced them
the meek never knew the score

With only one life on this planet
it is clearly about the choice
Should one's religious aspirations
create our benevolent voice

Manner and appearance
are the image others see
Inside is another person
deciding the way to be

It is not an automatic process
to come up with a better plan
Years will have to be invested
before you can say I can

If one can make the commitment
any plan will just be begun
Carrying it out is another matter
that will tell how the prize is won

The earlier the effort is embraced
the greater the chance for success
It is why so many precede you
they procrastinated much less

You cannot begin this yesterday
even though you knew you should
Now is the time for some real effort
believe it and surely you could
