Good Health

Good Health

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

from better food

"
Oats banana and prune
at four am most every day
Often by the light of the moon
a healthy start towards being okay

Early risers learned from the birds
get there first to get the worm
Birds choose wisely what the eat
survival is what they learn

Humans are not so smart
they eat what is advertised
As a result of this mistake
their future is compromised

Since food is sold for money
the cheaper stuff earns much more
With money being our standard
fools we will be been taken for

Read and learn about nutrition
surprising as this act may sound
Be selective about what you read
good health may be what is found

Protein foods low in fat
milk nearer two percent
Four vegetables every day
fresh fruits are money well spent

Whole grains like oats and wheat
white bread is best ignored
Necessary vitamins can be found
so your health can be restored

A healthful diet in our early years
served by parents knowing what to eat
Will give us a powerful start
towards health that can't be beat
