Human Behavior

Human Behavior

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

not all good

"

The history of human life

tells how we came to be

Believing God made the heavens

it includes us too you see

Humans have been here

before anyone could write

sometimes killing people for food

when their hunger caused a fight

They had to eat to stay alive

or we wouldn't still be here

Food was very hard to find

in our dangerous hemisphere

The behavior humans learned

during those centuries of the past

Is the behavior humans still have

doing what they can to make it last

Today laws prevent eating humans

but most animals are fair game

Its okay to eat God's creatures

but wanton killing is a shame

Killing is what humans do

they learned the behavior well

Just don't break any laws

or someone will be sure to tell

Attack enemies in other ways

they won't understand your scam

You can easily take their money

and even from Uncle Sam

Soon you'll be rich as Croesus

just start a tax free church

Then parade with all your money

and leave the losers in the lurch

This was really good. Everything you said was completely true. It makes you think about the human race on a deeper level...interesting. Amazing job :)
