The Good Works

The Good Works

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

of the Successful

"
Why don't we hear about
 what good workers do
They hope you won't find out
you might get their job too

There is little room
at the top where they work
Company pay is much less
for the job of a clerk

Clerks are still needed
to assist those at the top
Good workers are always busy
and need for them doesn't stop

Many clerks have learned
how to do the job well
They soon get advanced
and are told not to tell

No one needs to know
what a good worker has learned
His secretive success
is something he has earned

He might even resign
and start his own company
He can then hire his own clerks
because he is smart don't you see

Good business is work
that few people want to do
That's the reason at the top
there are always so few

If it is your goal
to have success in what you do
You will have to enjoy the work
good workers know this too
