Youth and AgeA Poem by Sam Freelandit is your future
When we were young old age didn't seem right Getting up so often in the middle of the night
Grampa and Gramma tottering around wasn't much of a life and it hardly seemed sound
At their age wrinkled and worn always criticizing kids with continuous scorn and their lives on the skids
Little did we know of what would happen some day That our strong and handsome bodies would be looking that way
If we had only learned the real truth we needed to know That your body owns you and its your job to make it go
Those who didn't learn this well are now gone from the scene almost nothing left of them and no one to intervene
They haven't gone to hell what remains is somewhere here forever part of the universe not a great life it is clear
Do what ever you can to make your short life a joy taking good care of your body is the best habit to employ
