Music and Life

Music and Life

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

for our future

"
The music we love will be
in tune with what we learn
giving joy to what we do
and being a major concern

Our choice of the beat
that we choose to hear
comforts the way we feel
by describing what we revere

From the jungle drum
to the Bach chorale
it is whom we have become
being more dark or more pale

Avoid saying better or worse
they are pejoratives for sure
uttered by the unknowing
having little hope for a cure

 Acceptance of differences
is a civilization demand
proving our intelligence
and showing where we stand

The start of our life
was never our choice
but now we are in charge
to use an understanding voice

Enjoy the music you learned
it is best for the mind you have
it is manna to how we feel
for each of us a mental salve
