for those who women have helped

they are a more civilized breed

 

behavior is conditioned

in a few of those early years

seldom to ever change

in those impressionable dears

 

if a man is the only early model

he often teaches one to fight

giving the kid a toughness

and a powerful need to be right

 

this will give an edge

in later battles they must to win

never able to deal with loss

in a world so full of sin

 

the early mother model can help

to make every kid more aware

that winning is not everything

it is often better to share

 

since men seldom read poems

they may not call me insane

these are just some words

to help parents avoid some blame

 

the best plan to use

is give the kid some balance

share in the upbringing

don't leave development to chance
