A Mother's Gift

A Mother's Gift

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

to you

"
You were once one cell
and God didn't do it
your Mother did the deed
and its time that you knew it

She had the choice
to create who you are
ten trillion cells today
the best event in your life by far

Had she been as selfish
as you sometimes act
you would certainly not exist
and that's an inescapable fact

It is easy to ignore
what important people do
but it shows how limited we are
and disrespect for our Mother too

When you believe the truth
you can finally become an adult
only your Mother fully appreciates
what she has done and the result

The life that she created
by taking good care of your cell
gives you the unique opportunity
to enjoy life on earth so well

Every day is Mother's Day
it is best when you show your love
she has been your creator
there is no greater force above

Believe whatever you will
there are many who are misled
they cannot help not knowing
about the poison they were fed

Great rhyming, good storyline, it shows your respect and devotion to life, you believe in life, not something mystical and unreal.
Thank you!

This was avery nice poem. I bet your mom loved it. There's a couple things though. Yes our moms chose to have us well most of them chose anyways but don't discrredit god. She chose to bring the cell to life but god was the one that made the cell and gave her that choice in the first place. The second thing is more technical. In this line "but it shows how limited we are and disrespect for our Mother too" I think you should have maybe inserted the word shows after the word and. It would have helped that line flow better cause i had to go back and re-read to really get what you were saying.
