Mental

Mental

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

effort

"

Left brain at work

thinking in a line

procedural order

memory is fine

Right brain inside

enjoying the ride

nothing to hide

or try to decide

So the brain goes

all the day long

happily singing

a mental song

Whatever we do

was learned in the past

however we do it

slowly or fast

Back in the beginning

it was all a mystery

everything was new

a wonder to see

Now many years

have diminished the fears

we can plunge on ahead

so the neurons have said

Looking to the future

of being somewhere

whatever happened above

there is more gray hair

Right brain doesn't worry

no use to do that

left brain keeps planning

and making us fat

Whatever we want

we get what there is

the life we spent

went by in a whizz

Wonderful poem

"Right brain doesn't worry
no use to do that
left brain keeps planning
and making us fat"

made me smile :)
