Our Wonderful Brain

use it for safety and peace

 

The sooner we realize

life has two basic forces

there is a chance to discover

the two life courses

 

You probably know

our brain has two lobes in there

the left deals with action and fear

the right is for love and care

 

Our leftbrain is where

action and fear are in control

doing everything we can

to avoid death and its toll

 

A developed leftbrain will give

a better life to us

pushing for our success

but granting little rest

 

Our leftbrain grew strong

as we learned what to do

our rightbrain was actively

learning how to love too

 

Looking at an infant

sleeping peacefully there

developing its brain

having nary a care

 

Hunger and stress

change what the infant feels

soon crying for help

with continuous appeals

 

Giving help the infant needs

in order to stay alive

is what the brain requires

for any hope to survive

 

We continue in the struggle

during our whole lifetime

using the leftbrain to fight fear

but being stressed all the time

 

When we find a way

to get our leftbrain to relax

our rightbrain will find calmness

a condition our whole body lacks

 

The calmness will enable

our rightbrain to grow love

sharing the love with others

and our God above

 

When we have learned to connect

with the peace that God gives

we will know more about life

and the way the rightbrain lives
