A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

for perfection

"

Walking with a cane
steadies an old man's gate
doesn't help his wrist's pain
which he would like to abate

Everyone will find
something to complain about
we will always find more problems
there is never any doubt

If everything went our way
we would not be satisfied
there are still ways to complain
that we haven't yet tried

We will not solve all the problems
no matter what we do
if I can't find one more wrong
you will tell me about two

The search for perfection
will forever be our goal
maybe we will find it in heaven
when death takes it's toll

Expecting perfection to be there
is a foolish thing to do
what you already have on earth
is the only event that's true

So stop your search right now
find something you like to do
give your life a little help
find a friend to enjoy it with you

Good luck with the whole perfection thing. What makes the world beautiful is the flaws. Flaws make us who we are.
