Imagination

Imagination

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

a mental exercise

"

The tale I was perusing
took me very far away
the theme of the story
spoke of dragons to slay

I turned my head around
forgetting the story line
there over my shoulder
a pair of glowing eyes shined

Lost happily in my dream
I had awakened with a start
knowing I must fight back
before it takes me apart

Still remembering the story
I had to gather my wits
by slashing with my rapier
I chopped the dragon to bits

The excitement in reading
is a joy for the mind
my novel featuring a dragon
was very easy to find

Any time spent reading
will be a benefit for you
reducing the hours of boredom
while gaining knowledge too

Any mind with imagination
likes to play this game
enjoy it whenever you can
I plan to do the same
