Lifelong Learning

Lifelong Learning

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

the best plan

"

Everything we learn
gives our mind a new focus
it should be our concern
to look for what is best

Those with whom we converse
will be the guides for us
life will be getting better or worse
by helping us more or less

The problem is we know
our early life we couldn't choose
and most of our character
was formed before we knew

Our future is clearly influenced
by the parents that we have
the world our parents knew
affects who we are too

All those early learning years
 swayed who we have become
few changes will now occur
unless you plan for some

The plan must be carried out
with serious work and hope
giving the mind a chance
to learn better how to cope

If you try to continue learning
all the best that is new
your knowledge and skill
will increase steadily too
