Corruption

Corruption

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

in our jungle

"

When one controls what others do
it changes their direction
it leads them to believe
they can escape detection

They surround themselves
with clever henchmen
who will do all their dirty work
much more than I can mention

It becomes a gang of thieves
greedily seeking power
watch out for them or grieve
their corruption will flower

They hire the best rich lawyers
to win them more control
those who know our legal system
know it never had a soul

What can we do
if the fine print we won't read
you can bet you will be hurting
when the lawyers make you bleed

Corruption helps the powerful
they know how to win their case
with every court victory
we have more losses to face

If you think I am exaggerating
you haven't read the news
that is usually our problem
something no one can excuse

Sighs.... Sam, its so much the order of the day in the headlines of late.
Hey do you believe in a reveloution?
Because soon thats all there will be room for.

Anyhow, I do hope you are well... Oh and I have been reading, yes, I've not skipped a beat even if I have been a little quiet.
