Fact or Fiction

which is our truth

The fiction that we voice

trying to tell others what is true

is often a poor choice

and not what we should do

 

Life is more like fate

happening from some unknown cause

our gift from the universe

caused by nature's inevitable laws

 

Our words can be the fiction

readily available to us all

trying to create our truth

but why we take a fall

 

The language of our voice

was learned so long ago

we may never know the truth

of what we say is so

 

Racing from place to place

is the life that we create

being driven by the concern

that we will arrive too late

 

If we slow down and listen

to nature's siren song

its a gift we won't be missing

something needed for so long

 

Our fiction will become our truth

when we learn more about our need

to find more joy in nature

and forego a life of greed
