Lily

Lily

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

more beautiful than the flower

"
Lelia Lucile and Lillian (Lil)
two lovely ladies many will say
each living in two centuries
helping others find their way

They have many friends
enjoying their company
looking quite a bit alike
it is very easy to see

They listen as we speak
showing how much they care
two very intelligent women
who know how to share

L for luck and L for love
letters part of their common bond
lives maybe touched by a fairy
wielding a magic wand

When we pause to listen
we hear words that are true
I hope you will join me
giving the respect they are due

How it came to pass
for these truths to be known
 it has taken several years
for this writer to be shown

Every truth a person knows
requires an event to take place
it is what we learn with hindsight
that tells why one wins a race

So please come to Maxine's
any Sunday you can
you should enjoy talking to Lily
and will likely become a fan

Loved those lines, what we learn through experience, hopefully ...This was a very interesting piece and makes me want to come out and talk to LILY...
