Existence

Existence

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

it will last forever

"
Embrace all the trauma
it all will end too soon
forever in the universe
we will hear its mournful tune

With God at our side
as with the human race
our friends may not be there
but the space we'll have to face

Think now of the good times
because everything will change
it will challenge all beliefs
as we face this wider range

Since no one can tell
exactly what we will see
I am certainly willing to wait
to see what it will be

While we are waiting
there is still so much to do
praising those who have gone
they were mentors for me and you

Keep looking up ahead
the silver linings shine
every cloud can give you hope
as from the beginning of time

My message was not for you
it fills a need I have
seeking a little comfort
it is really just my salve

Using words the way we do
they will forever be there
you could also try this too
giving to yourself a little care

It's true, more and more I see that my poems with messages intact aren't aimed at whom ever may read them but for myself, trying to get through my own thick skull.

But, try as I might, I can't help believe that these poems are also a message from you to whom ever may read them. The best lessons learned are those learned by othes so I have no need to learn it another way.

Thanks for the much needed lessons, you're a mentor yourself.

This is a great little poem. I love the way you honor your mentors. My "teachers" are never far from my thoughts, tho they have long passed they are as near as my remembrance of their love, and my gratitude for having been blessed by their lives and their wisdom.
