learning to care

Endless wonder
to eyes that can see
they glisten so brightly
giving joy to thee

 

As the mind expands
with its power to care
bursting with goodness
when you learn to share

 

Making days such a pleasure
in our endless quest
when we can share with others
giving them our best

 

By the fences we build
there will be little reward
since they keep us apart
as they prevent accord

 

If our ego believes
that our neighbors are less
others will know its our problem
and they won't have to guess

 

Getting rid of those fences
our fear will diminish too
by sharing we will prosper
so a better life can ensue

 

Trust has a power
only the strong can share
by learning to know others
we can find a way to care
