Word Choice

Word Choice

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

an important difference

"
two words that describe
what anyone chooses to do
to make something better
will gain praise for you

if making something worse
happens to be your choice
we will hear from your words
a very ugly voice

the words we use
tell clearly who we are
no better description
can be found by far

the history of using better
began many years ago
the use of amelioration
is what has made this so

not knowing the meaning
is a widespread fact
it speaks of unknowing
a very common lack

pejoration is the other word
that makes something worse
often used by so many
who choose to hate and curse

the words that are used
can be heard as your choice
they will tell what you think
they will be your voice

the habits we have learned
in what we have to say
 will be who we are
in every which way

Hrmmm I dont know about this one Sam.. Cause I have a billon voices personaly, but in my face to face life its sickening sweet,, well so I'm told. In fact if the people closest to me read my writing,, they would not believe for a moment it was me.. Though if they shared the same day, which sometimes happens, they would see the connections.. So all I can say is a writing voice is the release it what often we cant or wont unleash with a voice but silent on a page.

A poignant piece of poetry, but yet, it has an ethereal feel to it. Every word spoken, becomes another's heart's token. What is the token of our choice?

Nicely penned...
