Voices

Voices

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

past present and future

"

stilled voices from the past

echo silently to the ear

hoping someone would listen

oh why oh why can't they hear

we gave so others could live

they said it would be best

the life we lost was a gift to you

now it is our time to rest

living is so brief we know

did you hope for some other course

we believed our souls would never find

a cause for our remorse

our darkest dreams at night

are what we now endure

so many in our sombre group

still hoping to find a cure

had we spent more time in loving

those we loved would have known

of care we should have given

helping now that they are grown

think carefully about your choices

you have forever to regret

give more time to your loved ones

what you do now is all they get

while no life can be complete

its the choices that we make

if one always gives their best

there is no better route to take

Great!! Simply awesome!!!
It's simple and straight to the point.I really enjoyed reading it.I completely agree with you about the last verse. You're so right in saying that we've got a lot of time to regret our actions. But we all should live in the present and help bring smiles to our loved ones.
Beautiful thoughts.....
Fantastic Job!!!
