The Choice

may be forever

the choice to go it alone
yields more grief for friends
and the problem gets worse
as your relationship ends

 

it is true that the mind
has always lived this way
but always hoping to find
something worthwhile to say

 

think about who will listen
when there are only the walls
you may find what you are missin
when nobody calls

 

of the choices one makes
there are different results
we might even miss
the clever insults

 

what we have learned in the past
has mostly come from others
that is probably why
good friends feel like brothers

 

think carefully now
before you choose
it could soon be how
you had so much to lose

 

if you find a way to give
to others in need
you will never be alone
and much happier indeed
