Existence

the challenge

 

beginning a genetic copy
shaped by natural forces
just trying to survive
a being from many sources

 

nothing simple to describe
knowing less about intent
trying always to discover
the best way to invent

 

beginning the daily task
trying diligently to find
little help if you ask
when looking for someone kind

 

no other choice exists
when seeking the best
a hopeful mind insists
trying to ignore the rest

 

reality is who you are
no matter what you choose
believing all life is easy
may be the reason you lose

 

knowing of others happiness
a guide of what to do
never satisfied with less
existence will smile at you

 

the future will not become
just another elegy
success is there for some
who seek all that they can be
