thinking helps too

if you should ever wonder
what helps a human to survive
it might possibly be
that they are more alive

 

to become more alive
means letting your brain
plan better for the life
that you hope to sustain

 

you certainly know
you are alive today
but that may not mean
everything is okay

 

being alive is complex
not always understood
being loyal to our friends
we will share something good

 

in friendship we will find
others who can share
with good friends in our life
there will be those who care

 

 sharing our life with others

should improve our mental health
especially when our goal
is not just seeking wealth

 

I have read about those
who have had a longer life
it is likely that they chose
to live with much less strife

 

we all should take fewer pills
and eat more healthful food
we might have fewer ills
and find that life is good

 

if today is when we start
 changing what we do
I will take my own advice
and be doing more with you
