Your Life

Your Life

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

and mine

"

Energy

Your energy is expensive
do you get your money's worth
You may be needing it
in the coming future of dearth

Wise men don't predict
they plan  better than that
Fools just enjoy the good times
but suffer when times are flat

Where will you be
when times are lean
Begging for help
like others you've seen

The world is full
of haves and have-nots
Better plan carefully
if you want to have lots

Energy is wasted
when you don't insulate
Keep your distance from the lazy
who will never even rate

Poetry that is honest
says all of these things
Listen to the Wise Old Owl
and the message it sings

We get most of what we deserve
it has always been this way
Don't expect any more
in this game you want to play.
