A Better Plan

Events of  our past
mean what we say we know
Giving credability to our future
and the way we choose to go

 

Our reasons for doing this
are clearly the best
All future choices we make
will be put to the test

 

Most behavior is done naturally
and we do it every day
It is how we should live our lives
there is no happier way

 

When we plan for the future
to repeat the successful past
Adapting to the changes
and hoping to make them last

 

The future will be uncertain
it is what we should expect
Mistakes belong in the past
like the bad times we reject

 

My behavior has made a change
it has saved me from falls
Especially when I was hurrying
to answer one of nature's calls

 

How often have you chosen
a new behavior for you
Realizing you could do it
and be much safer too

 

If we both try to continue
our actions in this better way
The words of this poem
 will have had their say
