Ups and Downs

for everyone

Most of us will testify
that much of life is great
Glad we got to live
in a better liked state

 

If we live in a good place
and call it our home
There are many other states
where it is hell to be alone

 

Those places are the downs
full of misery and hate
We look forward to coming home
to our ups kind of state

 

When we have to move
we choose an up labeled state
A place we heard was good
so we can say life is still great

 

Even in our good place
changes will occur
Just like so many choices
you can never be sure

 

Clever folk enjoy the good times
there may be downs up ahead
We get live in those times too
so remember what I said

 

I have tried to describe
the realities of living
Where everyone understands
the importance of giving

 

In a country that believes
our ups should be free
There a too many downers
who will never agree
