Consensus

life saving agreement

It is called consensus
when most will agree
Shared responsibility
for outcomes that will be

 

The outcomes of our acts
will never be very clear
But refusing to work for consensus
will give everyone more fear

 

Their fear will be greater
when politics are involved
Dishonestly playing politics
no problem can be solved

 

Refusal to deal honestly
agreements will decrease
Then comes the blame game
that grows and will not cease

 

Obama is seeking consensus
it is the only way to be fair
Others who won't seek consensus
are leaders who do not care

 

This world is topsy-turvy
real caring has been lost
Leaving everyone to pay dearly
we will all pay the cost

 

Many millions are suffering
and it is getting too late
Even those not suffering
are hurting by the hate

 

Consensus has now started
it is truly our only hope
Maybe if it continues
the world will be able to cope
