Looking Forward

to the future

How We Live

 

Looking forward means there is a life
and the future to be enjoyed
Looking  back to the past is a choice
to recall mistakes you could not avoid

 

Your choice will determine events
both good and bad every time
Which will be in your future
happiness or reliving each crime

 

No one escapes the past
as it haunts our memory
Why recall those awful moments
when a future could much better be

 

Living  should be about life
death will take care of itself
There is always the possibility
that the future will be more about
wealth

 

If you think wealth is about money
you miss the point of this poem
These words were trying to help you
enjoy your family and your home

 

Look  around you now to see
whatever you have enjoyed
Forget about all the rest
it only represents the void

 

There will come a time in the future
when hope will be harder to find
Now because it is still easier
try being to yourself more kind
