Ignorance

Ignorance

A Poem by Sam Freeland

More considerately stated
uninformed is a better word
If one cannot read this poem
there are problems still unheard

A young child is not ignorant
being informed requires training
Be careful how you describe someone
you could prove your own not knowing

We spend hours of time and effort
to bring a child up to speed
We normally assume an adult
no longer has this need

You may have gathered already
that ignorant is a dirty word
Others will take offense
to what you have inferred

Language used inappropriately
is a negative description of the user
There are more than enough words
that can be used by an accuser

When you speak and wish for listeners
you may try what has been said
Otherwise we should hope
you didn't want listeners to be misled
