The Human Mind

The Human Mind

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

learns from birth

"
We now know much more
about the human mind
It grows and learns at birth
and this is a research find

It is not just a blank
that other humans can fill
It learns from every environment
as it creates the will

The environment others create
starts the learning at birth
Everything that then happens
the mind assumes has worth

Making choices begins
and last a lifetime there
Always with some affect
to the way that we care

Be careful in what you do
it may have a permanent effect
Learning is continuous
and affects the way we connect

It even creates prejudices
that affect future learning
For good or for bad
and this is just a warning

 If independence is learned
in those early years
It will create the power
to avoid many fears or tears

The strength of any person
to make their own wise choices
Will last a lifetime for them
and that speak in many voices
