Memories Are Copies

for a friend

Copies of some events
are clearly stored in the mind
All due to human superiority
in so many of our kind

 

Trainability can help
when making a recall
Practice makes more perfect
but certainly that is not all

 

Rewards will be handsome
for what's in your memory
Your poems could win a contest
why don't you try and see

 

To call anyone smarter
we must see what they can do
Smarts is a success story
for your life and others too

 

Sometimes we win
other times we fail
Smart is how we handle it
when our poems are for sale

 

Plagiarism copying can be a crime
originality leads to success
Its also good to share what we write
and that's not just my guess

 

Every poem we write
should be open for review
You will get a fair assessment
from other poets, that is true

 

Good poetry comes from memory
