When the shoe fits wear it
a Germanic saying for your son
What makes it so compelling
its the way a job gets done

 

Working on a Mercedes
or getting a tank ready for war
It has to be the best
that's what a saying is for

 

Most will praise excellence
and it has its own reward
Things last a long time
everything is in accord

 

Perspective can be narrow
missing out of the box design
But repeated effort will last
with every facet in line

 

When stiff upper lip is added
there is no excuse to fail
Stay on course in what you do
and watch to keep a full sail

 

Every saying has its message
even when it pinches the toes
Your life can be a winner
the way success always goes

 

When you design a better plan
others will come to your door
I would very much like to be there
if only to help keep score

 

But poetry is only about talk
acts are what we need
That is how you can be sure
in the end you will succeed
