A Message

A Message

A Poem by Sam Freeland

Poetry with my chosen words

its message quiet and clear

Friendly words that are posted

for contact that is not near

Remembering our connection

from days that have long passed

Was my motivation to write

thinking the memory would last

Rhyming was for the reading

some lyrics I wanted to send

Words that have no music

some connections always end

This poem is my example

of some feelings that were true

It was simply my way of caring

being truly written for you

Words expressed with emotion

as body language says so well

I hope you understand this message

but only the future can tell

If all of this sounds untrue

it won't help to read it once more

What the words have already said

are words you have seen before

This poem took hours to create

to bring a message to you

It does not require a response

only bad feelings will accrue

I understand the differences

that make it impossible to share

When you do not reply to my poem

it is true that you do not care
